Basic appearance: (See monster section if parts are struck out)
His hair is black with a patch of white on the right-hand side splattered across his fringe. It's tied at the back into a wild, bushy ponytail.- He has grey eyes and dark smudges beneath them exactly as his icons show. They're supposed to be from all the tears he's shed while in prison... (I'm not even kidding, that's what the designers said in the character art book)
His height is 188cm/6'2"and his weight is unknown (officially; mun's estimate is between 70-80kg/150-170lbs).- He has pale skin due to not getting much sun.
- There may be faint bruising on his wrists because he used to wear heavy cuffs 24/7.
- He has a slightly muscled torso and arms due to vigorous sword work when he was younger. That hasn't really diminished despite his time in prison, although his reflexes and speed have dulled.
* Reference for the style Blackquill might wear for special occasions.
Monster appearance: (based on the Australian magpie / inspiration for end result)
- Hair: Resembles and feels like the fluff of a baby magpie; there are longer feathers at the nape of his neck, mimicking the ponytail he once had (like a lyrebird's tail).
- Height: He now stands above 2m/6'6" thanks to his taloned feet.
- Face: (Oct 25) During fog, he gains a beak and his eyes turn brown.
- Wings: They resemble the Australian magpie's wings.
- Hands/Feet: Dark grey scaling and dark grey claws.
- (Aug 30) Feet have become extension of his ankles, so his legs have two distinct joints (one is his knee, the other his ankle; i.e. the bird knee); the scaling ends just above his bird knee. He has three forward toes, one backward toe.
- (Sept 13) Hands are larger by half their original width, with all five fingers present; the scaling goes up to just below his elbow.
- (Post-Oct) His arms grow longer during fog periods.
- (Aug 30) Feet have become extension of his ankles, so his legs have two distinct joints (one is his knee, the other his ankle; i.e. the bird knee); the scaling ends just above his bird knee. He has three forward toes, one backward toe.
- (Oct 8) They cover his shoulders and form a rough 'V' down his chest following the sternum. It's the same down his back.
- (Oct 17/18-31) Feathers cover entirety of his body except his face.
- (Post-Oct) Feathers only cover the lower half of his body + his chest/shoulders as before.
- RUNES: These feathers stylised in the manner of the top part of this design. I.e. Jagged feathers arranged in a vague yin-yang shape. These are ON HIS NECK.
FOG FORM:
- Blackquill's has a beak which takes up the majority of his face (covers nose and mouth). His eyes turn brown like the magpie he's based on and his arms also grow longer to allow him to run on all fours.

MONSTER CHANGES
[x] Bird-like wings, that can resemble any species of bird but will always be large enough to fly with.
[x] Bird talons in place of feet
[x] Talon-like claws instead of fingernails as well.
[x] Hair with a feathery texture.
[x] Hollow bones and increased lung capacity, allowing the character to fly more easily.
[x] Feathers on the shoulders and elbows.
[x] Extremely sharp eyesight. Harpies can make out small details and movements on the ground even from great heights.
[] Ability to predict weather patterns. Harpies will be able to accurately predict the weather up to a week in advance (weather will be listed on the event calendar).
[] Weakness to electricity. Being electrocuted or struck by lightning can kill a harpy. Better get to lower ground during thunderstorms!
[x] A nesting instinct. Harpies feel safest when able to make a shelter in a high place.
[x] Hunger and hunting instinct. Harpies usually hunt by either directly attacking their prey or lifting them off the ground and dropping them from great heights. Hunting animals will satiate them for a short time, but the longer they go without hunting a human, the more they'll be compelled to do so until they start losing their self-control.
Optional changes
[x] A bird-like tail.
[] The ability to call up fierce, tornado-like winds.
[x] The ability to turn completely into a bird. In this form, the character will look like a normal bird and will be able to travel faster. However, they will also be more vulnerable.
[x] Short bursts of speed. The harpy will be able to move extremely fast for about a mile, but will be extremely exhausted afterwards.
[] A soothing singing voice that can charm humans, making them vulnerable to being lured.
